Hello Friends! Hope you’re doing well and staying healthy. Wow, what a crazy time, right? I’m simply trying to keep abreast of the rapidly changing news, laying low as much as possible, and trying to keep a positive outlook.
This weekend, I got a little time to craft. Life goes on, and I think now more than ever, it’s important to focus on the bright side of life.

I’ve had a super busy month up until now, so this was my first opportunity to break out two new Sale-A-Bration products from the Second Release: 1) Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper (item 152312) and So Very Vellum Specialty Designer Series Paper (item 152313.) Both of these products are available individually for free when you make a qualifying purchase of $50 or more during Sale-A-Bration. (Products available while supplies last through March 31, 2020.) Flowering Foils is perfect for coloring, especially with Stampin’ Blends Markers. And So Very Vellum is beautifully embossed colored vellum! I thought both would work perfectly to start making some Easter cards!!!

These cards involved lots of coloring and fussy cutting. But I find both thoroughly therapeutic and enjoyable. I designed one card to coordinate with each of the three vellum colors, including Pool Party, Purple Posy, and Soft Sea Foam. I started by using Stampin’ Blends Markers to color the large rose gold and silver foil flower print sheet from Flowering Foils.

To show a nice variation in shades on my large flowers, I combined the light and dark combo packs of one color with a coordinating light marker from another color. For example, I combined 1) the Purple Posy Combo with a Blackberry Bliss Light, 2) the Petal Pink Combo with a Calypso Coral Light, 3) the So Saffron Combo with a Daffodil Delight Light, and 4) the Pool Party Combo with a Bermuda Bay Light. For the leaves, I used the Soft Sea Foam Combo with a Pool Party Light.
Finally, to create the ombre background behind the small flowers on my blue card, I used the Pool Party Combo with the Color Lifter marker.

To create my layers, I incorporated several dies including Stitched Shapes, Rectangle Stitched, and Stitched So Sweetly, as well as the Basket Weave 3D Embossing Folder. Then, to integrate the foil design into the rest of the card, I used the Word Wishes Dies to cut Silver Foil greetings.
Embellishments included some Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins, Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels, and Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.

On the inside, I stamped a perfect greeting from the Timeless Tulips photopolymer stamp set using Basic Gray ink.
